NUCLEAR KIDS NOW KNOW HOW HEAVY IS THE HEAD THAT WEARS THE CROWN

The Armoury Chamber is located in a building constructed in 1851 by architect K. Ton and is one of Russia’s most valuable sites, which is why the curious kids chose it for their walking tour. The museum’s 9 thematic halls house centuries-old “gems” of the royal treasury: ancient state regalia, coronation dresses, artistic silver, Fabergé items, the Monomakh’s Cap, and even ceremonial carriages from the 16th-18th centuries, impressive not only for their beauty but also for their imposing size. The “nuclear” art lovers learned that Elizabeth’s most grandiose carriage is 10 meters long and weighs (neither more nor less!) about 3 tons! Opinions among the Nuclear Kids about what exhibit in the museum surprised them the most divided into two camps: male and female. The girls were simply shocked by the ancient dresses with a 45 cm waist. (“I envy them so much!” sighs Lisa from Kurchatov), while the boys, of course, were impressed by the knight’s armor! (“Look at his helmet!” Sasha from Sarov couldn’t stop exclaiming). But the cultural program of the Sunday NucKids didn’t end with the museum: another surprise awaited the children.

Having familiarized themselves with the art of the past years, Nuclear Kids moved to modern art. To be more precise, to the novelties of cinematography! For this purpose, the residents of “NucLand” with pleasure went to one of the most modern cinemas of the capital. There they watched the adventures of Harry Potter: “Deathly Hallows. Part 2” in digital 3D format and were able to see all the advantages of the actors’ performance. Also, young talents had an opportunity to evaluate acting dubbing from a professional point of view: the “Russian voice” of Potter’s best friend, Ron Weasley, belonged to their beloved acting teacher, Alexei Kostrichkin. This is one more proof that in “NucLand” there are only wizards: teachers, tutors, and the “nuclear” talents themselves. “This is really a great day!” – all the kids say. Well, the cultural weekend is over, but Nuclear Kids are expecting difficult, nevertheless, action-packed acting weekdays. Only 10 days are left till the premiere of the musical!
