Winter Tale

When you come to a new country on tour (in search of adventure, or just for a visit), you may get surprised: it seems that you’ve only visited for a few days, but you want to be local here, to know the people, their traditions and customs… You want to relate to the new land even a little bit! And, of course, to see the local nature, to understand its beauty. That’s what the “nuclear” actors did today. And they went to conquer the heart of Vietnam … by swimming! The third Vietnamese day for NucKids started with a boat trip. All “atoms” got up very early, and after a quick breakfast they scattered on buses to go to the most beautiful place of Vietnam – Tam Kok River, which is located in Ninh Binh Province, 95 km south of Hanoi. These places are also called “waterless Halong Bay”, so much so that the beauty and harmony of mountains, rice fields and lush trees resembles the landscape of the same name Vietnam bay. Arriving at the venue at 8:00 sharp, Nuclear Kids were eagerly waiting for the adventures. Armed with branded panamas and bandanas, the young talents boldly lined up in “pair molecules” and took their places in light Vietnamese boats… Amazing beauty of “porous” limestone mountains wrapped in emerald green and decorated with temples of 10-13 centuries, lotus-covered river bottom, caves with picturesque stalactites and flocks of white kingfishers flying right around the paddles… This was the picture that Hanoi greeted the “nuclear” teenagers with. The children looked around in admiration, because with every turn of the river, the paradise pictures changed, and it seemed as if they were seeing a whole series of glossy photos. “Very beautiful!” – admires Ksyusha from Zelenogorsk, in the same boat with me, – “And the water is so warm, and the breeze is wonderful! We swim so fast that it’s not hot at all!”. The water in the river, in fact, turned out to be not only warm, but as if in a bath, and all the curious “atoms” certainly wanted to taste it at least with their fingertips. “I want to bathe in such water! I’d like to swim in it!” – was heard from all the boats. But let’s leave swimming for later, because although rivers are not cold, and the current is quite weak, but seaweeds are very dangerous, so swimming is strictly forbidden. Unlike rowing! The “nuclear” talents, having realized it, found a way to use their infinite energy: they asked the accompanying Vietnamese for strange paddles and pushed on them properly! A real competitive spirit awoke among the NucKids and they tried their best to beat each other. So Zhenya from Udmurtia in the same boat with the lighting director Tonya Lebedeva fought to the last with a couple – Marina from Seversk and a recording engineer Sergey Karpukhin. We should pay tribute to our “nuclear” fighters: the Vietnamese, that had to be on the paddles, having realized the talent of the Russian “atoms”, withdrew, and the “athletes” fully fought for supremacy with their paddles and forces. However, the score was closed at 1:1. A draw! Having sunbathed, admired and laughed Nuclear Kids returned to the shore to get photos as a souvenir and set off on a new journey. Also, everyone felt that it was a high time for refreshment. A delicious exotic lunch is just what they needed to regain strength and vigorous spirit, because in the evening the kids will go to the rehearsal in the new theater to get acquainted with the stage and give an incredible show tomorrow. The premiere of the musical Bunker of Freedom in Hanoi was hours away…
