“NUCKIDS – FOREVER, NUCKIDS – IS OUR LIFE!”

The countdown is over, the shows are done, flowers given, photo albums packed away as keepsakes. The “nuclear” project has come to an end, and now it’s time for the talented “atoms” to leave their beloved NucLand. How can this be real?” says Sasha Nikolaev through tears, “It shouldn’t be so easy for us to fall apart! We should stay together! Always!”

“Of course, we should!” we reply, but each young actor has their home and family waiting, their hometown and school to return to… The farewell evening at the land of talent NucKids has arrived, and as Zhenya from Ukraine says, “It’s a mix of sadness and joy because when you see how much we’re crying for each other, it shows just how much we care!” And following the wisdom of “to those I love, I give”, each team of “atoms” prepared a musical, dance, or art present for the other. I think no one will ever forget the Song of the Three Roughnecks performed by Alina and Yulia, with the help of a knockout backing vocal in elegant evening gowns and dangerously high heels – by Vadik, Stanislav, Tolik, and Vanya. The roughnecks simply rocked the hall with their energy and positivity! The actors were so into their roles that it was impossible to distinguish them from the beautiful Chicks of the musical!

NucKids aren’t just average kids, so their farewell was creative, or kind of a hand-made style. “Each of us was given a long string to wear around our necks and a whole bunch of colorful threads,” says Kristina. “You take a short thread and tie it around your friend’s long string so that in the end, everyone has a multicolored necklace!” But the beauty of the necklace wasn’t the main thing! “Each of us,” Kristina continues, “while tying the small thread, would say the nicest, kindest words and wishes… The threads are to make sure it all comes true!” And of course, it will come true because (as we’ve reminded ourselves throughout our musical) “thoughts are material!” Ahead, the kids still have the Winter Tale, which the first 35 “atoms” to sign up will get to create, and of course, NucKids 2012! By the way, according to the tradition, three lucky tickets were drawn, allowing the winners to enter the land of talent without selections and stress – and the lucky ones were Galina from Sarov, Lev Ilyich from Seversk, and Kristina from Novouralsk. The kids were beside oneself with excitement, and when asked for “a few words from the winners?”, Lev Ilyich calmly said, “Why waste words? It’s all clear enough!” Well, we wish all the Kids to meet again next year and stage another grand musical. Because as one of the songs from the Freedom Bunker goes, “We’re all one family! Teenagers are trendy! Teenagers are stylish! Teenagers are you and me!”

Just a little less than a year until NucKids 2012!
