Veronika has got a vibrating vest

In April as part of the International Creative Project for Children NucKids 2014 the Communications Department of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation carried out charity event named Easter Joy. It was organized together with the Charity Fund Big Heart by Arguments and Facts newspaper. The event raised funds to buy a special vibrating vest for 14-year-old Veronika Bandenkova, who suffers from a severe hereditary disease. In seven Russian cities, participants of regional selections of the NucKids Project in Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Novouralsk, Chelyabinsk, Snezhinsk, Krasnoyarsk and St. Petersburg painted Easter eggs, which were then presented at a charity exhibition at ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation. Artists, musicians, and representatives of state and public organizations also created Easter artworks. Vladimir Shakhrin, leader of the Chaif music band, supported the event in Yekaterinburg; in Chelyabinsk, Minister of Social Relations Tatyana Nikitina also participated; and in Krasnoyarsk, soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Musical Theater, Elena Tereshchenko and Maxim Shilov backed it.

The event managed to collect 191,170 rubles. Despite the fact that the target amount of donations was not reached, employees of the Charity Fund Big Heart noted “it was a very good result for the first attempt.” Taking into account the activity of children from the cities where the charity event was held, the employees of the Fund decided to add the lacking amount and purchase a vibrating vest for Veronika.

The Fund added the amount needed to buy the vibro vest from other sources and paid for its purchase. On May 23rd, the vibrating vest was handed over to Veronika.
