The Nuclear Kids Project gives the kids many opportunities. Including working with professional teachers, participating in a unique musical, the opportunity to make new friends and vivid memories that will remain in memory for many years. However, another advantage of the project is that children have the opportunity to visit the most diverse corners of our homeland and see the most unusual cities in Russia.
After the participants of the project successfully played the first premiere in St. Petersburg, their tour began. The first destination on this journey was Zelenogorsk in Krasnoyarsk region. Zelenogorsk is one of the cities that is included in the category of Closed Administrative Territorial Entities. The Electrochemical Plant is a city-forming enterprise that produces low enriched uranium for the production of nuclear reactor fuel. It is not accidental that the hosts decided to bring the whole cast of the NucKids Project here. After all, it is not only a chance for parents to see their children on stage, but also an opportunity to show the children that the nuclear industry is safe and very interesting.
In order to reach this wonderful city and show the musical to the Siberian audience, the children had to travel from St. Petersburg to Zelenogorsk, a long journey of several thousand kilometers. The project participants traveled as one big friendly team, and despite the four-hour flight, everyone had a great time.
“We flew for 4.5 hours from St. Petersburg to Krasnoyarsk. To be honest, the road was a bit tiring. The main thing is that we were not bored on the flight: we were having fun and cheering up others, watching movies, listening to music and just talking. In general, the flight went well. After a smooth landing, we boarded the buses and traveled from Krasnoyarsk to Zelenogorsk. On the road, it was really fun and exciting. We talked, sang songs from musicals of the past years and admired the beautiful scenery. Behind the window we saw picturesque views of the taiga and our native Siberia”.
Denis Smirnov, 16 years old from Krasnokamensk
The foreign project participants were most eager to see the Siberian city at last. They were very excited, because Russia is a different, amazing country for them, where they want to see as many diverse and interesting places and cities as possible.
“When we landed in Krasnoyarsk, I was very happy, because I wanted to see this “closed” city, this “secret” place for a long time. I was very excited, because I have never been to such places before. I really like it here. It is incredibly beautiful. All this scenery, it is just mesmerizing. I didn’t even think it would be this cool!”
Faraj Sid Qaisan, 14 from Bangladesh
Upon arrival in Zelenogorsk, the project participants were immediately placed in Berezka country boarding house. In addition, it is worth admitting that this place is truly amazing. The boarding house is surrounded by a few kilometers of forest, which not only looks stunning, but also is located on a mountainous terrain, because of which it seems that the trees are the size of a multi-story house. In addition, there is a lake right in front of the residential building where the kids stay. Therefore, when the young artists wake up, they can look out the window and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
After a long journey and time zone shift, the organizers and the project’s creative team decided to give the children a rest. After a good night’s sleep, all the participants chose an activity to their liking. Someone went to play basketball, someone went for a walk around the territory of the boarding house, and someone took a swim in the local pool. At the end of the evening the kids were in for a surprise: all the counselors together with the acting teachers Alexander Nikolaev and Dmitry Simonov arranged a party to reward the children for their endurance and commitment during the flight.
“I like the boarding house very much. There are wonderful views from the windows, a very picturesque lake. In general, everything is arranged very nicely here. I liked our rooms, they are very cozy, and I liked the kitchen. After the rest, we went to play basketball, where all the kids proved that a talented person is talented in every way! Also, our friends – participants of NucKids 2014 and NucKids 2015 Project – came to visit us. It was very cool!”
Andrey Parkhomenko, 13 years old from Polarnye Zori
In short, all the project participants have successfully overcome this difficult journey and are now ready to delight Siberian viewers with their creativity. Rehearsals and dress rehearsals will begin very soon. We can invite everyone to the premiere of the musical Imagineers of the XXI century on August 8th in Zelenogorsk.
