Contest of drama skills

After the completion of the internal casting of the “NucKids 2017”
project, it’s became clear who will be able to play one or another leading or
secondary role. But … There is one important question left. And what if a
child didn’t show all the abilities during the internal selection? How to
prevent errors in the process of the roles’ distribution?  A contest of drama skills (CDS) was arranged very
at this moment especially for the participants and tutors.

CDS is a customary event of the project. Last years in the beginning of
the “Nuckids” project children become a part of a great act that allows them to
fully reveal themselves. The contest consists of many simple tasks that are
perceived as a game. But in fact, these tests help the tutors to look once
again at young actors and adjust their creative ideas.

“First of all the contest of
drama skills is a contest of improvisation. We put children in certain
circumstances and they, simply without hesitation, get used to the role. We
have different tasks in stock. They imitate animals, show household items,
emotions. But the main task of the contest is to determine the manifestations
of talent in the kids. All children differ from each other. Someone has
revealed at once, and someone needs some time to get used to the project’s
atmosphere. Therefore, such events are a real assistance for us!”

The contest of drama skills is the first general event for of the project.
The most important aspect of Nuckids life is its atmosphere. The children just
will not manage with musical performance without a family feeling and friendship.
A good performance is based on theatrical team, where all the actors are ready
to rely on and help to each other in a crisis situation.

“And only together we will overcome all bad weather, I love you, NucKids,
you are my happiness!” – these words of the NucKids anthem are known by several
generations of the project participants and exactly these song lines performed
by all the participants and teachers were spread all over the Repino Cronwell
Park territory.

The contest ideally suited to create an original, joyful and cheerful
mood. The game in a playful manner, where there is an incentive to move
forward, to prove oneself and to uncover their creative abilities, like nothing
better, helped to rally the children.

“We have gathered all together
and really enjoyed the day. We imitate different animals, from whales to
rhinos, show the objects and emotions as well. It was really cool. Despite the
fact that I didn’t win this contest, I really liked it. I felt that we really
became closer to each other. I would like such an events to be hold more often,
because it’s a very valuable and emotional experience!”

The contest of drama skills has showed that all the participants of the “Nuckids”
project are not just cheerful guys, but also young talented actors. The main
thing is that their eyes caught fire, which means that we are undoubtedly looking
forward to a great musical performance!
