The various stars came to the NucKids
project from time to time. In 2010 the famous singer Lolita came up to them,
and in 2011- the Prime Minister group. But what if the nuclear actors are
visited by someone famous incognito? Dmitry Barkov the actor who played Petrov
in the first Soviet musical film named “The adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin”
visited them  in such a way this year.

“The adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin”
is a film that without a doubt has done the childhood of a lot of Soviet
people. A fervent story about the adventures of two scholars won the whole
country at the time. Plus, it was the first national musical on a big screen. A
musical is our theme! So we managed to catch Dmitry Barkov and found out how he
got in the NucKids project and what attracted him here.

ABOUT THE
NUCKIDS PROJECT

My dear friend
Vladimir Karabanov is working in your project. I am following closely for his
activity/creativity and I am pleased with his theatrical and film achievements.
The NucKids project is worth of the individual attention. It is not the first year
that I came to the NucKids project, and every year you are delighted me more
and more. The children have the possibility to express themselves and to my
point of view that is great. More than seventy participants come to the project
and you have managed to find the activity he likes, everybody feels like a
family member. And finally you have produced the performance, the show the
children have managed to live a small life in favour of it. What is so
surprising how you managed to create so strong relations between the children
during a month only? That is the most valuable thing in the life!

I am rooting for the NucKids project because I am
working in the similar sphere. Our project is named “A movie island” and we
also gather the children for summer to in order to create our own short film.
Our children write a script by themselves, hold the casting and make movie. At
the end of the proses we have a short copyrighted film that we are pleased to watch
by our friendly team.

HOW VLADIMIR KARABANOV WORKS

Vladimir is an aesthete. And he is an aesthete in everything. He is able to find beauty and is able
to create it. I have
heard of him as a film director. But in theatre performances his author
handwriting is easily read. He can imagine clearly how the one or another
performance should be seen. And he does not allow the actor even with a small
role to play badly. I am in a full solidarity with him. There should not be the
armature work! We are working for the spectaculars; and they can feel fake and false
at once. But the kids are the kids anyway. To my point of view Vladimir
understands his task as a teacher very well. The most important is not to
create the professional actor from the ordinary child in 20 days but to teach him
to be self-confident and accept himself as he is. Then everything will be fine!
The good performance will be produced.

ABOUT THE PAST AND THE FUTURE

Dmitry, I understand
that you are tortured by this question all of your life, but I am not be able not
to ask it. How Vasya Petrov is getting on?

But why am I
tortured? The movie that we have created some day is living with us up till
now. It is our childhood and it is somewhere not far away from us. In those
early years the film production and even a musical film production was of
something incredible and impossible. Then we had our own complications. For
example we had filmed over the one scene 38 times! It was like our own worst
record. Yes, we have grown up but the film is still living. It lives in the
hearts of a lot of people and I am pleased that I had a hand in its producing.

While coming to your
project I do not hope to be recognized by some of your kids. Because the times
passed ant now they have their own heroes and their own movies. But suddenly
the adult people recognized me! It was so unexpectedly and nice. And there was
a moment when kids asked an autograph for their mothers. It means that we have
produced the film that stayed long in memory. The film should leave something
behind, should force to think over it, and should not leave oneself
indifferent. There should be more smart persons and more smart films. And the
projects like NucKids are able to realize this aim! I wish a good luck to your
project; I shall come to the first night in Saint Petersburg; and I am dreaming
the next step of Vladimir Karabanov to make a magnificent film with the nuclear
actors.
