Moscow…

The premiere of the musical took place in Moscow as part of the International Creative Project for Children NucKids 2018.

On August 15th and 16th, the premiere of the musical Lomonosov’s Scroll staged as part of the International Creative Project for Children NucKids 2018 took place at the Et Cetera Theater in Moscow under the direction of Alexander Kalyagin.

The NucKids project traditionally ends its tour with performances in Moscow. In 2018, it was decided to return to the venue of the Et Cetera Theater, where the kids had already presented their performances from 2011 to 2015. Moscow viewers were honored to see the musical Lomonosov’s Scroll from the NucKids 2018 project as many as three times – on August 15th at 19:00 and on August 16th at 15:00, at 19:00. Everyone who wanted to see the performance from the nuclear stars got this opportunity.

This year’s musical’s plot is filled with detective stories and Dan Brown style mysteries, as well as references to the past. According to the plot, the main character of the play, art historian Neil Garin, together with his assistants is trying to solve the riddle of Lomonosov’s scroll, whose line is also stated in the script. While Neil Garin was looking for a mysterious scroll in modern Moscow, the audience saw a segment of the most brilliant Russian scientist’s life.

This year’s production attracted 56 participants from Russia and 24 of their international age mates representing Bangladesh, Belarus, Great Britain, Hungary, India, China, Turkey and Croatia. As before, the musical is headed by director Vladimir Karabanov and choreographer Maxim Nedolechko. Elena Ustimenko became the vocal teacher again, and Ilya Efimov performed as the composer. The scenery for the musical Lomonosov’s Scroll was created by Andrey Shchaev, and the costumes by Yana Vologzhanina.

During the premiere screenings of the musical Lomonosov’s Scroll the usual excitement for NucKids prevailed in Moscow. The hall of the Et Cetera theater was filled with friends and relatives of the project participants, honored guests, as well as former NucKids. The project celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2018, so the former participants not only came to the premiere of the musical Lomonosov’s Scroll, but even presented their original show at the end of the performance. During which more than 40 project seniors appeared on stage, among them were Daria Antonyuk (winner of The Voice project on channel one), Alexander Nikolaev (artist of The Theatre Art Studio), Dmitry Simonov (artist of the Lenkom Theater) and many others.

The premiere shows in Moscow were successful; the audience was very impressed by the beautiful performance, full of bright musical compositions and memorable choreography. Thanks to the technical capabilities of the Cultural Center, the audience was able to fully see all the intentions of the creative team. Video projection, light, and sound – all this helped the participants of the project to make the musical colorful. The last performance was particularly emotional. At the last musical show the kids could no longer hold back tears of joy: “We did it! We conquered Moscow!”

“The emotions are simply unforgettable! The project is a real family for us! The Moscow premiere is, of course, the most important and vivid. We all did our best, we were able to transfer 150% of the energy to the viewers. After the curtain closed, we couldn’t hold the tears back. After all, this is the last performance, we will not play it anymore. But how cool it is that we had such a wonderful summer!” – shared Vladimir Chekhov, a participant in the NucKids 2018 project from Angarsk.

The Moscow premiere was the final chord for the NucKids 2018 Project. Very soon the participants of the project will leave for their nuclear cities and they will be left only to remember how amazing this summer was. The anniversary Nuclear Kids 2018 Project is officially over. See you again soon!
