Mister and Miss Nuckids 2019

One day prior to the premiere in St. Petersburg the project’s traditional partner acting contest Mister and Miss Nuckids 2019 was held. 10 couples including counselor staff representatives joined the contest. Within an hour and a half judges Vladimir Karabanov, Maxim Nedolechko, Anna Telitsyna and Chinara Nazarova were scoring the participants attending various competitions. Project veterans counselors Danil Usov and Daniil Gnezdilov became hosts this year.

How was it like?

Traditionally, Mister and Miss go through three rounds together:

During the first one, they present their duet. Their main goal is to introduce themselves and present a short performance. It could be a song, a dance, an acting or an acrobatic sketch, and if the couple is formed a few minutes before going on stage, total improvisation is also welcome. For instance, the duet of Erica Nedolechko and Ivan Zuborenko, presented a little performance on how they prepared this performance for M&M: they invented on the spot how is best to place a microphone for an imaginary guitar, discovered who sang or played the music by ear better. Anton Onishchenko and Aglaya Sukhanova performed the famous song Battery by the band Zhuki. Many young viewers sang along standing up and even shouted out the familiar words. Matvey Eidelstein and Vlada Gankina showed a pantomime about human relationships.

In the second round, all duets had to go through a dance improvisation challenge. To the soundtracks of cartoons and movies, duets made up some movements and showed their unity. Elizaveta Balyura and Trofim Gnezdilov managed to align their energy with songs from The Little Mermaid, while Mikhail Saltykov and Irina Silina galvanized life into The Lion King.

The third and final round was the most creative and intellectual – poetry. From the list of words presented, the contestants composed their own poetry stories, such as: Hungarian, sandals, Gulf of Finland, grass, hair and dreamland. Polina Rafeeva and Maxim Khlapov even managed to put these words to the melody of one project’s performance songs – the teacher’s song. This conquered the heart of the audience and the judges.

While some participants were challenged with poetry, the others arranged freestyle rap and dance competitions or battles, as it is trendy to say.

While the judges were scoring and considering the winners of the contest, the guests of the Baltiets Hotel, fans of watching old movies every night, entered the hall and turned on the movie Love and Pigeons. That is why the judges made a decision to announce the winners and award gifts to the participants of the contest in a solemn atmosphere after the show in Udomlya.

Exciting treats from the administrative and creative team are already waiting for the participants, and the winners will get a grand prize – a photo shoot in a corporate design from the editorial staff.
