Impressions of the premiere in St. Petersburg

Alina Ushakova from Ankara

“On July 9th we had our premiere in St. Petersburg. Each of us was worried and nervous. We tried to help each other in some way: changing clothes or bringing props. Of course, we made a lot of mistakes, but this is what gives us the experience. We acted harmoniously. We could feel each other on stage. We became one team. During the musical we feel like we have an invisible connection, which helps us to perform”.

Maxim Khlapov from Sarov “In any performance there are always its advantages and disadvantages, unanticipated situations and absolutely unexpected insights. In St. Petersburg, for example, we performed for the first time on a round stage at the same level as the audience. At first it was unclear how to work with the audience, set up the decorations and move around on stage. The performance on such a stage gave us an incredible experience of working with a new space and audience, which I think will be useful for us on different venues as well.

Ksenia Sotkina from Nizhny Novgorod

“On August 9th, 2019 we performed in the Northern capital. We had a very interesting venue, as there was no stage at all. So we were not separated from the audience in any way, and we had to perform at our best and try to avoid making mistakes. We arrived to the Youth Theater by 9:00 and immediately began the rehearsal, but, like always, we delayed the performance. We finished make up and prepared props 5 minutes before the performance. The main character (I mean myself, at this performance) was nearly late. I jumped out right at the time of the opening of the curtains. On the other hand, I had no time to stress out. The whole performance passed in blink of an eye. But there were some mistakes, after all we learn, become more experienced and stronger through them. In general, the premiere was not a fail at all, there were its pros and cons. There’s more to come. We will do great!”

Elina Kokaulina from Zheleznogorsk

“St. Petersburg was the third city where we presented our musical. Our premiere took place on a rather challenging, but at the same time very nice, stage of the Youth Theater. There was not much time as usual, we did not even have time to do some things, and we were running panicking 2 minutes before the performance started. But this feeling of adrenaline, these emotions cannot be compared to anything. It is such a joy when you go on stage and fully immerse yourself into the world of theater and creativity. Backstage life, we are under the spotlight, smiles and tears of the audience. These are the most precious and valuable memories. And, of course, it is a massive experience for all of us. Experience not only in theater, dance and vocal art, but also in the art of life. In general, the premiere went well, of course, there are small imperfections and inaccuracies. However, all this is gained with time and experience. I try not to pay much attention to some minor mistakes during performances, but then at rehearsals I try to correct them. The main thing is just to do what you love and enjoy the moment.”
