The musical Once in the Future is a performance of the XII International Creative Project for Children of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation Nuclear Kids. Every year up to 80 сhildren of employees of Russian nuclear industry enterprises and foreign partners of ROSATOM take part in it. Under the guidance of creative mentors, the young artists stage a musical which is then toured to Russian and foreign nuclear cities.
In 2020, the project was organized in an unusual format. Initially, the participants practiced acting, choreography and vocals online for three weeks in July. During this period, teams of 17 participants from India (Kudankulam NPP) and 19 participants from Hungary (Paks NPP) joined the project. And in early August, as soon as the epidemiological situation allowed, the Russian participants of the project: children, counselors, teachers, doctors, administrative and creative team, gathered in the Kaluga region at the park-hotel Yakhonty Tarusa. Then 16 days of continuous rehearsals and classes began. During this record-breaking period for the project, the musical Once in the Future was staged under the guidance of the stage director, choreographer and creative teachers. The music for the performance was written by Ilya Efimov, the script and lyrics by Vladimir Karabanov, choreography by Maxim Nedolechko.
On August 21st and 22nd, four premieres of the play took place at the Moscow theater Et Cetera. Two casts played on the big stage – junior (aged from 11 to 14) and senior (aged from 14 to 17) .
We’re happy to announce the video version of the play Once in the Future.
