In 2018, the 7th part of the famous movie series Yolki, also known as Six Degrees of Celebration was released on the screens. The appearance of Nuclear Kids alumnus Evgeny Egorov in the movie was a pleasant surprise for all of us. Eugene participated in the project in 2012 and 2014, graduated from the Moscow Theater School of Oleg Tabakov. In the movie he played the role of Sasha – a train passenger who helps a barista to find her hero.
Evgeny, for many Russians, Yolki is the most eagerly awaited New Year’s movie. What was it like for you to realize that the whole country will see you and how did you get into Yolki? (Nikita Ivanov)
I got into Yolki like everyone else – I passed the casting and I was approved. It was the second project in my life!
Of course, I felt very nervous and responsible, not every time I get the opportunity to star in such a large-scale movie. But everything went well, which I am very happy about. (Evgeny Egorov)
You participated in the Nuclear Kids project in 2012th and 2014th. Did the project help you to become an actor? (Nikita Ivanov).
This project is a very big and memorable part of my life. I used to study in a theater studio and my dad told me about this project. There I met a huge number of talented kids, with some of them we are friends to this day. I remember NucKids with great affection. This project definitely proved my wish to become an actor. (Evgeny Egorov)
What advice would you give to aspiring actors? (Nikita Ivanov)
The advice is very simple: don’t be afraid of anything. Do not listen to anyone, no matter what they say. Follow your dream and struggle for your happiness! (Evgeny Egorov)
This year the 8th part of the movie was released on the screens, Alexander Nikolaev took part in it – a participant of the 2011th project and an acting teacher of the 2015th, 2016th and 2018th projects. Alexander graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS. In the movie, he played the role of Leo – a developer of a smartphone application.
Sasha, first of all, put everything on the table. How did you get into the movie Yolki 8? (Nikita Ivanov)
I was on summer vacation, swimming in the sea and my agent wrote a message that I need to record a video audition for the project Yolki. I was sent the script of the novel where I had to participate. It was necessary to record a monologue and first I was sent the text of another character. I memorized everything, filmed it, sent it off, and then I was invited to an in-person audition. I came to their office in Moscow and auditioned with the director. The auditions were very cool, as we all improvised and I tried all four characters. Then there was a fitting and filming began. (Alexander Nikolaev)
Your image in the picture has drastically changed, you were asked to change your hair color especially for Yolki? (Nikita Ivanov)
No, not at all. I was asked to dye in this gorgeous yellow color for another project. I did so and called Yolki
to inform them. I went to the office and they liked my new hair color and approved it, but still decided to shave me. I go with a mustache and a beard, so I shaved the beard but won back my beautiful mustache. (Alexander Nikolaev)
Not many people know that movie production is a complicated process. What was the atmosphere on the set and when was your novel filmed? (Nikita Ivanov)
It was filmed at the end of August, we had 6 shooting days in Perm. It was very important for the director to shoot in Perm, because he is from there. There is a local IT cluster, it’s really cool, and we wanted to film it. The atmosphere on the set was awesome. Everyone knew that we were shooting a New Year story, even though it was +32 degrees outside. It was very hot and it gave such a powerful energy! It was very comfortable to work with the movie team. In general, I enjoyed the filming. (Alexander Nikolaev)
Probably the participants of our project read this article and think: “I want to act in movies like Alexander Nikolaev”,
Alexander, how to make it to the Russian cinema? (Nikita Ivanov)
Listen, I can’t say that I did something special to get into Yolki. It seems to me that Anton Loban, Dima Simonov, Dasha Antonyuk and many others could have starred in this picture as well. I can say that this is a chance that you have to be open to. One thing I want to wish to the future graduates of the project: Take your chances, life is full of them! (Alexander Nikolaev)
We wish our graduates large-scale projects, so we have more reasons to be proud of them!
Stay with us, stay with NucKids
