For the second year in a row, thanks to the cooperation between ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation and the Talent and Success Educational Foundation, Nuclear Kids traveled to Sochi to create and show a winter musical performance.
On December 14th, 32 participants of the Nuclear Kids Project of different years from 14 cities flew to Sochi. An unforgettable New Year’s journey of 25 days awaits them, which will start in the resort capital of Russia.
“It was my first time in Sochi and I was surprised by the weather. In Krasnokamensk it is -27°C and in Sochi it’s +12°C. I am very happy to meet everyone; we have not seen each other for four months. I think that during the performances the temperature in Sochi will rise to +30 thanks to us!”, – said Pavel Ishenin, a participant of the winter session.
A musical based on the 1964 movie Morozko will be directed by Igor Morozov, choreographer Maxim Nedolechko, composer Igor Smirnov and vocal and acting teachers. The deadline for staging the musical is super tight. There are exactly 11 days for the production, because on December 26th the first of 14 performances will be shown to the pupils of pre-school and school educational institutions of the Sirius Federal Territory.
“The task before us is not just impossible, but super-impossible, however, with such talented children it is not a problem to put on a performance not only in 11, but in 5 days. Everyone is determined to work fruitfully. We are ready to rock!”, – said Igor Morozov, the director of the Winter Tale 2022.
On December 31st, the team of the Winter Tale 2022 will return to Moscow, where the project participants will celebrate the New Year in the circle of their second family, the NucKids family. In advance, the kids will prepare gifts for each other and play the traditional game Secret Santa to decide who will give gifts to whom.
“I am very happy that I will spend my most favorite holiday among my friends. My mom told me that Santa Claus will definitely bring me a present at our home in Sarov while I take part in the New Year performances on the project,” said Alexey Fedin, a winter session participant.
On January 2nd, a dress rehearsal will be held in the auditorium of ROSATOM, where 11 performances for children of nuclear industry workers in Moscow and the Moscow region will begin on January 3rd.
The result of the project’s winter session will be the screening of 25 performances in Sochi and Moscow for 8500 spectators and the creation of a new musical album with songs of the musical Winter Tale 2022, which will be released on streaming services in early January 2023.
