The XVII International Creative Project for Children Nuclear Kids 2025 of the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation will present the play For the Flag Over the Reichstag in Minsk.
The project has been carried out annually since 2009 by the Communications Department of ROSATOM. Children of employees of Russian nuclear industry enterprises and foreign partners of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation take part in the project. The author of the project is Sergey Novikov. During the existence of the project, more than 1200 children from 25 countries (India, Hungary, Bangladesh, Croatia, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Tanzania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Egypt, etc.) have participated in it.
This year, 96 talented children, together with choreographer Maxim Nedolechko, composer Igor Smirnov, conductor Igor Razumovsky, and theater teachers, staged the musical For the Flag Over the Reichstag. It took three weeks to realize this show.
As part of cooperation with the National Project of the Youth and Children the Movement of the First the participation of 13 activists of the Movement in the project became possible. Additionally, 15 children from the symphony orchestra of nuclear cities Rosatom Territory of Culture are involved in the project.
For the Flag Over the Reichstag – is the story of Oleg and Ira, a brother and sister, typical modern children – spending much of their time playing video games, staying at home and hardly aware of the realities beyond their screens. At their great-grandmother Zoya’s anniversary celebration, they feel bored. Zoya, at their age, bravely fought against fascism and survived one of the most brutal wars in history. While at their parents’ workplace, the children accidentally activate a time machine and travel to a Soviet village in Belarus in 1943. Spoiled by modern technology, they do not immediately understand that what’s happening is a real war, not a game or a quest. Now they must act together to repel the fascist attack and return home.
The musical touches on important themes, including: the friendship of the people of the Soviet Union, the Red Army’s heroic struggle against fascism during the Great Patriotic War, true human values such as love for the Motherland and family, loyalty, respect for the history of one’s country – values that every teenager should possess.
The musical performances will take place on July 26th at 18:00, and July 27th at 14:00 and 18:00 at the Belarusian State Youth Theater
