NucKids visited Brest Fortress!

The day after the premieres in Minsk, the Nuclear Kids went on an tour around the city of Brest.

During the tour, children saw the historic railway station, learned many interesting facts about the factories and industries located in Brest, visited the Millennium Monument of Brest, and also took a walk along Gogol pedestrian street, where they saw a collection of unique street lamps.

The main purpose of the trip was the tour to Brest Fortress. The participants and the administrative and creative team toured the territory of the hero-citadel fortress and saw the place where the Great Patriotic War began with their own eyes. They got acquainted with the Kholm Gate, which can be seen in Alexander Kott’s film Fortress of War (2010), and learned about the fates of soldiers, officers, and their families during the war.  Descending into the ruins of the White Palace basement, they saw the place where the fortress defenders left the inscription: We die but do not disgrace.

What they witnessed today at Brest Fortress resonates deeply in the children’s hearts and will help them better portray the heroes’ destinies on stage, as the main theme of our play this year is dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory.
