Falling in love with the city: “NucKids” are in Prague

Kyiv greeted the guests with a fresh summer rain. The event organizers prepared an intense cultural program for the children. This included a city tour, a visit to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a boat trip on the Dnieper River, and, of course, lunch at one of the most famous restaurants, where ancient Ukrainian recipes and exquisite aromas allowed each project participant to feel like a true gourmet. The evening rehearsal was the final one. The children performed the familiar scenes from the musical, while lighting technicians set up the lights, and the sound engineer and visualization master fully synchronize audio and video with the action on stage. The performance at the Ukrainian House concert hall was met with encore requests. The musical once again had overwhelming success with the audience, ending with bunch of flowers and loud applause. Some project participants couldn’t hold their emotions and cried during the final song. After the performance, local TV channels and media journalists were waiting to interview the creative team and children. When the interviews ended, everyone went to a farewell party with various treats and memorable souvenirs featuring the NucKids 2010 brand logo. The creative team wished the children success and new artistic achievements. One of the project producers, Oleg Borshchevsky, performed a lyrical song dedicated to the project participants. Three lucky tickets were also drawn, giving the holders the right to participate in the NucKids project in 2011 without any selection. The lucky winners were Zhenya Kiligin from Ukraine, Anton Danilov from Russia, and Rameshkumar Krithinkumar from India. The evening ended with an exchange of “memory threads.” “We will never forget the time we spent together, as it was one of the brightest and most unforgettable in our lives,” says Yulia Guryeva, wiping away her tears. Upon returning to Moscow, another surprise awaited the children – a festive dinner and two huge cakes decorated with the NucKids logo and an eyed palm, which had become a real trend during the project. In the evening, the project’s general producer announced that an updated version of the social network would soon be launched on the website, allowing all participants to stay connected. That’s it, the NucKids 2010 is over, but it’s not a full stop – it’s an ellipsis. In September, the children will gather again in Moscow to perform the musical’s main hit – the song Go and See – at a concert dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the nuclear industry, which will be held at the State Kremlin Palace.
