NucKids 2014. The Final Premiers

Joy, tears and understanding that it will be the time to part soon: all this hit the participants of the NucKids Project today unexpectedly. Their tour was over: the last performance and premiere took place in Moscow. This year, before the evening performance at the Et Сetera Theater on August 15th, a feeling of bitterness was added to the excitement and commitment: the audience will never see the musical Labyrinths of Childhood with such a cast again. We are saying goodbye for a whole year.

The kids were nervous before going on stage, because it was their last performance, their last words and opportunity to show everything they were capable of, what they have prepared.

I will never forget those seconds in front of the stage, the good luck wishes of my friends, and the words “Everything will be fine! Give it your best!” Upon returning to the backstage area, “You’re doing great!” The NucKids Project has given us a second family, friends, love, helped us to decide on our profession. These meetings and performances are everything for us.

Judging by the reaction of the audience, who saw Labyrinths of Childhood for the first and last time, they would have gladly stopped the moment to enjoy the vivid show longer.

After the final song, the hall was torn apart: someone roared, someone threw compliments, applause and flowers. Some of the audience ran to hug the child actors they had grown to love in such a short period!

Children and adults hugged on stage, Ilya Korelsky and Polina Ryliakova, hugged, sobbed in the hallway, and among the crowd cried the most touching girl of the project – Dasha Stepanova. Further the reporters started pulling the kids off the stage, eager to interview the little stars. Reporters asked many questions, filmed stories to show our children on TV. After his interview Misha Yudin came up to me and said: “I am, of course, glad that I will be shown on TV and that they interviewed me, but I am deeply upset that every second we have less and less time to be together… And these precious and unique seconds have just been stolen from me just for the sake of tomorrow’s coverage…” and he cried and hugged me tightly! My heart sank, a shiver ran through my body and I realized that this was the end! We will never go on stage with this musical again, we will never play our roles again… Tomorrow is the farewell party… Moreover, maybe I will never see the kids with whom I was together today!

The day after tomorrow, we will all leave for our cities. We will experience parting, not yet realizing that each of us has a magic appeared inside. This magic is the memories of the time we spent together, the teachers’ words that made us older and wiser, and the faces of friends with whom we would like to communicate for many years to come.

This magic is NucKids. The project that united us forever!
