A letter home

Hello,

I should say that everything is a way better than just fine!

The food, accommodation and other hotel services are well taken care of. The girls are singing in the girls’ choir regularly for example I am at their rehearsal now. While they sing two songs, which are repeated several times in the musical, there is still one promised thing, which will be performed only by the four of them. Still waiting for lyrics and more information about it. Everything is still under discussion. Well, we don’t expect any big role, but, it’s easy to understand, although the language barrier can sometimes be overcome, but when trying to perform big roles it doesn’t go… It is something to be reckoned with.

The days are filled with games, practicing movements so that each step on stage is natural. Moreover, we learn about each other to deepen the trust between us. In short, they are trying to make a collaboration. I think the result will be at high level.

They receive us in a very friendly way, although treat us here as “foreign exotics”, but it is nice, they try to communicate with us, to learn some Czech phrases, they are very friendly, sociable, and most importantly, communicative. In our group, we decided that it is unusual, but very pleasant.

The day starts at eight in the morning with physical exercises and ends around ten in the evening with a discussion of the day. There is a kind of “regime” established here, but it is not terrible, on the contrary, a little discipline is always useful, especially since it is impossible to cope with so many children at once, without a schedule… However, the girls have no problems with it. They are happy because regular rehearsals have started, and the day goes by very quickly. In the beginning, we waited for a long time, and then we sang only one hour a day, now they practice consistently and that is exactly what they wanted. The only pity is that they do not know Russian, as many of the games depend on instant reaction, which I cannot provide with translation. There have been no problems with translation or anything else so far, I hope that it will continue the same way.

While we do not leave the hotel, there are constant rehearsals or games taking place in the hotel grounds. There are several halls available where rehearsals take place, so it is necessary to move constantly. It must be very difficult to organize and coordinate for the individual teachers, but so far, we are doing well, complications are most likely with the performers of the main roles…

The weather here is perfect for the rehearsals because it is not hot and we do not regret that we have to work inside, but we can also visit the beach or the park next to the hotel. Only today the weather has deteriorated a bit, it is raining heavily.

I will feedback again as soon as I have some news.
