What? Where? When? tournament

The project participants waited for July 9 with special excitement, because for the “old kids” it was the date of a long-awaited meeting, and for the “new kids” it was an opportunity to understand what NucKids is, to feel the unique atmosphere of the project.
Before arrival, the kids actually have been through the mill: registration of necessary documents, reading and learning the script, preparation for internal castings – and this is only a small part of what our participants had to do. We would like to come and meet everyone as soon as possible, to start rehearsals, to feel the spirit of unity to the fullest. But, finally, all the preparations are completed, the documents are formalized, the roles are memorized, and the suitcases are packed. Let us hit the road!
ALL DAY ON THE ROAD!
For our counselors the project started at 4 am, because already at 5:25 the first participant – Kireev Ilya arrived from Zarechny.
“To be honest, the road was hard. There was nothing to do on the train, although it seemed to be one day on the road. However, all this is not important, because I am finally on the project. I really want to get a lot of emotions from participation in NucKids, to travel to different cities of Russia and have a great summer!”
Ilya Kireev, 11 years old from Zarechny
The project counselors hurled all effort into the meeting the participants and taking them to the amazing Cronwell Hotel, located near St. Petersburg on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Especially for this purpose, several groups of counselors spent the whole day patrolling the train stations and Pulkovo airport, so that noone would be lost. Every child when leaving the car or terminal saw a counselor with a Nuclear Kids sign in his hands and a smile on his face. There was no way to pass by it!
“We flew for five hours, landed safely, the flight went well. The project representatives immediately met us at the entrance. The food on the plane was not very good, but we were not left hungry. Then we met a few more people and went to the hotel. All in all, the arrival went very smoothly!”
Daniil Usov, 15 years old from Zheleznogorsk
Besides many participants from Russian cities, St. Petersburg welcomed also our foreign friends today. Eighteen kids from the most different parts of the world (Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus, Bangladesh, Turkey, Hungary, and Vietnam) came together in this wonderful city to take part in the Eighth International Creative Project for Children Nuclear Kids 2016.
“We were welcomed very well. It was very delightful experience. The counselors who already knew us from the last project met our delegation, so we quickly oriented and found one another. We were given a very warm welcome. As soon as we came out of the terminal, we all started to be hugged at once, even though we had not seen each other for a year. I liked it very much, because you don’t see that in our country very often.”
Vojtech Jirka, Head of the Czech Delegation
REPINO IS OUR HOME
As you have already figured out, the meeting of the participants was very warm. The “old kids” were happy that they were together again, and the “new kids” immediately picked up this friendly atmosphere and quickly joined the company. Besides the long-awaited reunion, everyone was waiting for one more important meeting. A meeting with a rehearsal camp in Repino.
This camp is Cronwell Park Hotel, located right on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. The hotel is equipped with everything necessary for the accommodation of the participants. In addition to comfortable rooms, the hotel has a swimming pool and a buffet. In short, everything you need for a great stay at the project. Also, the adjacent territory of the hotel is simply unforgettable: paved paths, forest, fresh air and, most importantly, just a couple of steps to the Gulf of Finland!
“Repino is the most wonderful campground. It is located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland and you can go for walks there every day. The hotel is very comfortable with cozy and clean rooms. The Gulf of Finland just amazes! The place is surrounded by forest, nature and fresh air, which allows you to combine work at rehearsals and rest!”
Olga Savelyeva, 17 years old from Angarsk
From now on, the NucKids 2016 Project can be considered as opened! All the kids have met and acquainted, checked into the hotel and have already started to pass internal auditions in order to get the cherished roles. The intense rehearsals and a very busy schedule are ahead. With a final goal in mind – to create a new and unique musical.
