NUCLEAR KIDS ARE LEARNING THE FAN DANCE

It is not surprising at all that “atomic” children, who speak foreign languages with ease, who know the language of dance and acting perfectly, have quickly mastered another oriental way of communication – the Fan Dance!

In the musical Bunker of Freedom all the characters are flexible and transforming. One of such transformations happened to three beautiful Chicks, who turned into mysterious moon-faced dancers of the East. “Three Chicks, like all the inhabitants of the Bunker of Freedom, sympathize with Japan, – acting teacher Tatiana Solntseva comments this transformation. – That’s why in one scene they learn a Japanese fan dance in order to experience the culture of the East not in words, but in deed. This episode is necessary to show Chicks not only as cool girls, but as delicate souls who do not want to just “show off”. They need to put their souls into a common goal!”. Tatiana is sure that “the viewer will get incredible pleasure from contemplating this dance,” because the actress herself “was simply mesmerized by the beauty of the music and movements.”

It was this delicate, incredibly sensual melody that inspired Maxim Nedolechko to do a surprisingly plastic, Japanese-style fan dance. “With such a melody, I didn’t want any ”tricks”,” says Maxim. Only harmony and beauty. Natasha, Nadia and Masha from Sosnovy Bor managed to get into their roles very quickly. “Everything here is so sensual and subtle,” Nadia shares her impressions, “every movement seems to speak to the viewer!”. “We have never worked with fans in our lives, – adds her friend Masha, – it’s a completely different feeling! And our main task is to convey our emotions with dance, to tell what we feel!”. In addition, in this dance one of the Chicks (Nadia) and the new inhabitant of the bunker Tema (played by Anton from Nizhny Novgorod) fall in love with each other. And the girl will have to show the feeling only with a look and fan movements. By the way, for many centuries fans in Japan “speak” of love at every wedding ceremony. As we have a veil and bridal bouquet, in the Land of the Rising Sun at the wedding ceremony, the beutiful silk fan in Japan is a must.

And the “nuclear” girls managed to understand the Eastern culture properly, so they coped with the task of fan dancing, which greatly pleased their choreographer. “Such a piece is usually staged for a week, but these kids did it in one day! They are incredible!”. Several days in a row Chicks rehearsed with cardboard fans and only today they received Japanese props for the Japanese dance…Red, black, and yellow fans will tell the audience a lot, and Chicks are sure that everyone will enjoy Japanese culture together with them… While there are 14 days left till the premiere of the musical…
