There are the main
characters in the NucKids 2017 musical performance as there are in any musicals. In a
flash the great responsibility and the workload fell down upon these kids. How
are the rehearsals going with the main characters? How is it possible to
memorize a lot of texts? How is it a feeling that you are the one who get to
carry the performance? We asked the
project participants playing the main parts these and other questions.
About the special feature in the role
The main character is a
hard work first of all. Can you imagine what does it mean to memorize a role
and to sharpen it during the rehearsals? And all of these are during 25 staging
days! Even though you are the
teenager!
In the beginning of the project a small group of kids in a flash became
like small stars but they lost the possibility to be with their friends, to go
swimming in the swimming pool and to walk along the Finnish Gulf. There are
rehearsals and nothing more than rehearsals. There could be no procrastinations, there is a
lot of work, and we should do all in time.
Each day after the internal selections the kids came to the central hall of
the hotel and sharpen their skills together with the teachers. Together with the teacher of speech and
drama lessons they worked on
their diction and text reading and then together with the producer were trying
to produce from small particulars and elaborations something unique, precious
and beautiful – the musical of 2017 named “Just a summer rain”.
“I
was lucky this year to get the main part in the musical. First of all I am
really happy to have the possibility to learn from such a professionals as
Tatyana Solntseva and Vladimir Karabanov (tutors of the project). As to me the difficulty
of the main characters is that we need to get into
character. As an actor you should understand the character, create it for
yourself and think about the motives of its behavior. Nobody canceled a large amount
of text. But this work is my pleasure. That’s why I will be working hard on my character,
will rehearse a lot to get a success in the first night of musical.

THE SAME ON THE STAGE AS HE IS IN LIFE
The performance «Just
summer rain» tells us the story of Egor the young man whois luccky to have the
whole day to go sightseeng in Moscow. He came from far away and he is quite
unfamiliar with the modern capital inhabitants. There is a swing of things
around him that brings him into a deep of adventures. According the script Egor
is surrounded by the teenagers as he is. Kirill is a classical young Moskovite
who is always in a chase of something unrealizable. Mitya is an ordinary golden
boy who is always under the influence of his mother or under the strict control
of his girlfriend. And at last Galya the girl a dreammaker, who is trying to be
kind to the people around her and what is the most important to be honest with
herself.
But what about the actors themselves? Are their characters similar to
their behavior in a real life?
« I play Kirill in our performance, he is amoskovite who
become a friend to the main charactor. Kirill is a guy who wants to help to his
friends and is trying to be in focus. As for my personally this character is
rather close to me. First of all I am a native moskovite and I first hand know
how it is to live at a furious pace. Secondly I like to help to my family, I am
always trying to make them laugh and do not leave anybody in a bad mood.
Although for girls I behave more bold than Kirill. He should learn that from
me!”

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITY
The main character is a
great responsibility for the whole performance. The kids understand thatna lot
is depend on them. They have the most time on the stage, the most part of text
and the most part of actor’s feedback.
If the main characters will be a pale shadow of them the musical won’t be saved
no by songs. dances or the profound drama.
« The less days there are
till the first nifght, the more powerfull is the responsibility. I begin to imagine how I should come to the
stage, how I should prepare in the backstage, how I will worry. But this is not
because I have the main character. Nothing at all. We are making our common
cause during the project. There are not the big and the small parts. Everyone
is contribute to the musical and the musical performance depends on each
participant. We share the responsibility in equal parts among the all
participants”.

The kids have only
minimum days to learn the texts, to be distributde over the stage, and were sure in
what they are performing on the stage.
And we should wait. There are 7 days before the premier take place, vonуверенными в
том, что они делают на сцене. Ну а нам остается ждать. До премьеры осталось 7
дней!
