Tour of the NucKids2017 Project is in full swing. To be honest, it is the halfway point of the project. This means that half of the planned performances have already been played. On one hand, our nuclear artists already have a clear understanding of their acting tasks, they understand exactly what their teachers want from them. On the other hand, there is still a lot of work to be done to make the musical absolutely perfect. And how lucky we are that this halfway point happened to be exactly at the performance in the Hungarian Paks.
Paks is a city in the center of Hungary, located on the left bank of the Danube. The only nuclear power plant in Hungary is located in Paks, it generates more than 42% of the national electricity prodiction. For this reason, this location became particularly attractive for our project, as we are tightly linked to the nuclear field.
Rehearsals on the new stage were carried out in a very intensive mode. New actors were preparing for the premiere, some kids would play their roles for the first time. But this did not stop them from giving their best and captivating the audience from the first minutes of the performance.
“Playing together with such a group for the first time was certainly a bit challenging, but it was so much fun! Emotions are just overwhelming, especially because the songs were performed live. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the performance, and I think that’s the most exciting part.”
Valeria Yesina, 13 years old, Snezhinsk.
But not only the main characters had a hard time: all the participants faced some difficulties. Every time you move to a new theater, the performance is literally being put together anew: new lights, venue and curtains, where you have to fit so many props and decorations. Constant rearrangements, transformations, non-stop sharing of ideas, endless dressing and make-up. And at 40 degrees heat all of it becomes harder, you need more concentration and effort.
I cannot imagine what kind of will and patience have the dancers, who constantly rehearse performances in such a heat, and in such warm suits! However, they have different feelings about their work: “Confucius said back in the fourth century that if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life. I like dancing, and I don’t think about how challenging the performance is. Everyone has their own role, and everyone works as hard as they should.”
Roman Usov, 15 years old from Angarsk.
And it’s true, everyone has their own role, the one and only. Everyone has their own unique image. But all of us are brought together by our NuclearKids Project – “you are my happiness!”.
