NucKids project begins!
Already on the second day of the project ASC – acting skills competition was held, where absolutely all children participated. ASC helps to reveal the acting potential of the participant and show their skills to the production director, choreographer, acting and vocal coaches, costume and make-up director, sound producer, head teacher, curators.
This year’s acting competition included four rounds. At the first one, the participants were divided into three age groups, and the judges, including the production director, choreographer, acting and vocal coaches, costume and make-up director gave the children a starting task: to impersonate animals and everyday objects. The children had to react quickly, get into the character and represent the habits of animals, as well as demonstrate the main characteristics of the named object. Participants transformed into giraffes, mantises, dolphins and played as irons, sewing machines and combs.
The next round was something new for ASC, it was invented by Igor Morozov, the director of the project, and it was called Wow me! The participants had to come out and show the judges some unique skills. Children showed all kinds of acrobatic and choreographic performances, someone sang, pretended birds singing, someone made a joke and recited poems. This tour captivated everyone!
With each stage the number of participants was getting smaller and smaller, in the end there were about 20 people left. The next task was aimed at the responsiveness and associations of the children: they had to represent a color. Everyone had a different perception of color; for example, white was associated with snowflakes, airplanes, clouds and cotton candy, while red was associated with hearts, love and fury. Some participants got so into the role that their faces turned tomato red.
After discussion, the judges announced the long-awaited finalists.
In the end, the task was to fit and present two completely different professions, while reciting a popular children’s poem by A. Barto Our Tanya Is Crying Out Loud. The judges together with the audience selected unusual and extraordinary professions: fortune-teller, truck driver, milkmaid, magician, dentist, subway duty officer and others. The task revealed the potential of the project participants and showed what Nuclear Kids are really capable of.
It was not easy to make a choice of winners, as each of the contestants deserved to win. This year the winners were: Aglaya Sukhanova, Varvara Nikulina, Daniil Koshkin, Polina Ovtsyna and Varvara Butko, and the audience choice award (and all the project participants hearts) went to Ivan Zuborenko.
“I am very excited that I have won! It’s very important to me, really! My acting skills were duly appreciated. There were a lot of talented fellows taking part in the competition, each of them has their own charisma and energy, and I am grateful to be among them, to get a boost of creativity and positivity! Thanks to the judges for believing in me and seeing something new in me!” – Aglaya Sukhanova, the winner of ASC, shared her emotions.
Immediately after the acting contest, the creative team of the project carried out an internal casting. The next day the candidates for the roles were announced, and now the project participants are actively working, studying the script, learning songs and dances.
But this is not the end of NucKids events! On July 23rd the project traditional Night of Delegations took place, where the participants represented their native cities and countries. There were funny tales about Nizhny Novgorod and dancing performances of Angarsk delegation. Girls from Hungary not only showed a presentation about their country, but also prepared a mini-tasting of Hungarian dishes! At the end of the event there was a surprise – a rocking performance from the counselors.
Stay tuned, stay with NucKids and remember – NucKids unites!
