NucKids unites Hungary and Russia

This country is rich in talented and gifted children who take part in our project every year.  In 2012, for the first time participants from this country came to the project, and the musical Dream Station was shown in the Hungarian Zánka Children and Youth Center.  In 2013, 2018 and 2019, the rehearsal camp of the project was located exactly in the land of marzipan and the Rubik’s Cube.

In 2020, amidst the pandemic, the Nuclear Kids project took place offline in Hungary, because Hungarian children were not able to join the project in Moscow, however, three outstanding participants automatically qualified for the 2021 project.

On July 4th, 2022, in the atomic heart of Hungary, the city of Paks, 17 talented and creative children came together to put on a musical performance.  For 11 days the children were immersed in the creative atmosphere of the project: classes with vocal and choreography coaches, workshops, trainings, quests and quizzes from the counselors.

Vocal, choreography and physical education coaches lived together with the participants in Hungary, while counselors and teachers from Russia conducted online classes: stage speech workshops, vocal, journalism, public speaking, trainings and various team-building games.  The day ended with a team campfire with counselors online, where the participants shared their emotions and impressions from the day.

During the project, the children were given various creative tasks, one of which was to make a music video for the song Don’t Go Away from the Nuclear Kids 2021 project musical Atomic Love. Online meetings with the project editors were held especially for the participants, where they learned the basics of video recording and mounting. In a short period of time, the participants were to write the script, shoot and edit the clip themselves, and then present the complete product to the administrative and creative team of the Hungarian project. The premiere of the musical took place on July 14th in Paks and became the final point of the project in Hungary.

“The day of the premiere came up unexpectedly fast, but as I think we did well!  We were insanely worried that we would forget the words or not make it to the stage in time, but it didn’t happen.  The whole team came a long way and contributed a part of themselves to the final product.  The play was called It All Depends on Us.  It explored the theme of childhood dreams and parental relationships, which is familiar to everyone.  I am very glad that once again I managed to take part in such a project as NucKids!” – project participant Polina Kozlova shared her emotions

As a result of the work done, the most active and hardworking children were given the opportunity to become participants of the Nuclear Kids 2022 project in Russia this summer.
