For two days in a row, stage fencing instructor Ilya Romashko taught the nuclear kids to defend the actor’s honor with a sword. And now the young talents can boldly challenge anyone: “Defend yourself, sir!” Fencing master classes are a valuable thing for any actor: they develop grace, perfectly train coordination, and also allow to play Don Quixote or d’Artagnan in the future. In addition, fencing scenes, are often found in the repertoire of theater and film actors. Now we would like to announce that we will have fencing scenes in our muscial too! “We have characters who personify the rich kid crowd – says the director Dmitry Bikbaev. – This is the so-called young elite, which has influential parents and a lot of pocket money. We wanted to emphasize their level of life with the grace of fencing scenes, perhaps the most refined of all sports. Besides, swordsmanship is taught in all theater schools. The acting profession demands it!”.
Who are the elite youth Dmitry is talking about? An inseparable trio: Rich Kid (played by Gleb from Angarsk) and his associates Ferr and Lex (Blagovest from Bulgaria and Ilya from Angarsk). “The kids are learning very well! – Ilya Romashko says with pride. – You can immediately see the choreographic training and desire to work! They are extremely talented and just radiate positive energy. What they learned in a couple of days can be mastered for weeks. This is a great result!”. Along with the rest of the Nuclear Kids, the “elite” characters began by learning the basic rules of fencing: how to hold a rapier correctly, stand and move. Then they quickly mastered a few simple strikes, including a rapier jab to the mask, a hilt strike to the mask, and a few clever tricks for knocking the weapon out of an opponent’s hands. “At first it was very scary,” Gleb shares his first impressions. Especially when the mask is hit with a rapier! But it’s such an adrenaline rush!”. It was the VIP trio who had to familiarize themselves with fencing closer than other “atomic” talents, and delve deeper into stage tricks with the rapier, “to give life to which”, according to Moliere, “is the greatest art!”. “It’s like a dance!” – says Gleb and, indeed, there is a dance-like, powerfully energetic impulse in fencing. Today Rich Kid and his bros fenced on stage for the first time and, moreover, for the first time did it not only with protection (gloves and mask), but also in special snow-white costumes. According to the “nuclear” girls, the lads looked very manly! What are the personalities of these rich handsome men envisaged by the director? We will find out a little later. And there are exactly 20 days left until the premiere of the musical…
