INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGIONAL SELECTIONS OF THE NUCKIDS 2013 PROJECT

Dear friends,

In accordance with the order of the Director General of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation No. 1/49-P dated 25.01.2013, preparations for the V International Creative Project for Children Nuclear Kids have started.

The Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation organizes the project NucKids. It aims to strengthen friendly ties between children of employees of nuclear enterprises of Russia and foreign countries, to develop new traditions of cultural exchange and children’s creativity, as well as to promote nuclear power industry among the younger generation.

Children of employees of nuclear enterprises in Russia and other countries aged 11 to 15 years old who speak English and have successfully passed regional creative selections are invited to participate in the NucKids 2013 Project.

Regional selections will be held in March – April 2013 in the following cities:

1. Balakovo,

2. Volgodonsk,

3. Glazov,

4. Desnogorsk,

5. Dimitrovgrad,

6. Yekaterinburg,

7. Krasnoyarsk,

8. Kurchatov,

9. Murmansk,

10. Neman,

11. Nizhny Novgorod,

12. Novovoronezh,

13. Novosibirsk,

14. Sarov,

15. Seversk,

16. Udomlya,

17. St. Petersburg,

18. Moscow.

Participants from the regions where selections are not held will be able to take part in the Moscow selections. The exact schedule of creative auditions will be announced additionally.

The format of participation in the open selection is go-as-you-please, in the form of an individual interview. During the interview, the candidate may propose a solo performance to the casting group.

To participate in the regional open casting, all candidates must fully fill in the application form of the NucKids Project participant. The electronic version of the entry form can be found at http://speedy.sh/7v8VP/2013.doc

Application forms are accepted on the day of the regional selection, it shall be printed out with the obligatory attachment of two photos of the candidate (full-length and portrait) and in electronic form on any medium. If desired, the candidate can add audio and video materials to the application form. The content of such materials is arbitrary (a song, dance, or theater production, etc.).

Technical requirements for the electronic version of the application form: Microsoft Word format, photos .jpg, not less than 2000 pix, size is not less than 500 Kb. The file name must necessarily look like the following: Last Name of Candidate_First Name of Candidate_City Example: Ivanov_Alexander_Zarechny

Technical requirements to the audio recording: mp3 format, bitrate is not less than 128kb/s, size is not more than 8 Mb. The name of the file should look as follows: Last Name of Candidate_First Name of Candidate_Candidate_City_Song Title. Example: Ivanov_Alexander_Zarechny_On the bank of the sky.

Technical requirements to the video: the video shall be made in the most readable quality, but not exceeding the size of 40 Mb. Timing of the video: no more than 7 minutes. Formats: mp4, avi., mov.

Audio and video materials are not returned and reviewed. The organizers of the selections reserve the right to use the received materials for the purposes related to the NucKids Project.

Please note that all participants in the project must have an issued foreign passport, the validity of which ends no earlier than January 2014.
