Premiere in Zheleznogorsk

The musical Imagineers of the XXI Century by the participants of the NucKids 2016 Project has undergone a whole life long journey. At first, they prepared for its birth: they held auditions, recruited children, wrote songs, came up with a script. Then it was born: young artists rehearsed day and night, costume designers sewed a variety of outfits, teachers of acting brought the kids together, and choreographer and director embodied the most incredible script ideas to life. Then the performance slowly “learned how to walk”. Little by little, the show moved around the atomic cities of Russia, day by day becoming more and more confident and experienced. Finally it got to Zheleznogorsk.

After playing two performances, the participants felt confident in their abilities. Each of them knows exactly when to go on stage and what to do there. The images of the main characters are perfected, the movements of the ballet group have become the second nature, and the vocalists take the highest notes automatically. In general, the musical Imagineers of the XXI Century has been mastered to perfection. Another fantastically played premiere, another captivated city is a direct confirmation of that.

Zheleznogorsk residents prepared for the arrival of the Nuclear Kids Project in advance. We were welcomed very warmly, as the most important and dear guests. The rooms of the boarding house had branded magnets with the NucKids logo, musical posters were hanging everywhere, and newspaper headlines heralded the upcoming arrival of the Nuclear Kids in the Siberian city. When the day of the premiere came and the doors of the Zheleznogorsk Cultural Center opened, the audience was filled with people who knew where they were going. They really wanted to see with their own eyes the musical of the NucKids 2016 Project.

On the day of the premiere, there was excitement in the local Cultural Center. The hall barely managed to accommodate all comers. The audience was very different: from pensioners and honored veterans of the city to young children who wanted to watch the play with their parents. Of course, there were also former participants of the project. Everyone, without exception, was delighted with the way the young artists performed on stage.

“As it seems to me, the premiere of the musical was a success. Our young artists received a storm of applause. People cried, laughed and lived this performance together with the kids. I am very glad that NucKids managed to reach our city, because it is a wonderful project and I want as many children as possible to know how cool it is to be a part of it!”

Maxim Kazakov, NucKids 2012 and NucKids 2014 participant

During the performance, all members of the creative team traditionally stayed in the audience and watched the show. The choreographer, vocal teacher, and teachers of acting carefully watched not only what was happening on the stage, but also what was happening in the hall: the spectator never knows how the performance should look like, so often he or she does not notice the slightest mistakes and nuances, which are immediately seen by the project teachers. Only by the audience’s reaction can one determine how well the performance is going. Unprepared for the exciting performance, the Siberian spectator sat in amazement for the first few minutes. Then, having joined the atmosphere of NucKids, the residents of Zheleznogorsk simply could not hold back their emotions and gave the kids a round of applause.

“My impressions of the Zheleznogorsk performance are the most positive and wonderful! For me, as a vocal teacher, this premiere was special, because it was the first time the children sang here. This is our third performance, and every time we try to change the cast and give every project participant an opportunity to go on stage. Today, for example, one of the central and title songs was sung by Danil Usov and Vlada Sukhorukova. I think that the kids sang very well and performed with dignity. If we talk about the performance as a whole, it turned out well. All the participants brought in 95% of effort. Let’s leave 5% more to Moscow and look forward to new shows of our musical!”.

Each performance is very important for the children. However, for some of them, the Zheleznogorsk premiere was a little more important than for the others. Some kids at this premiere tried a little harder, played their scenes and sang their songs a little bit better. These kids who come from Zheleznogorsk. This year four people represent this amazing atomic city: Vlada Sukhorukova, Danil Usov, Artyom Titov and Mark Vysokov. The creative group, by the way, made the cast list just so that the Zheleznogorsk participants could show their relatives and friends what they are capable of.

“The premiere in Zheleznogorsk was great. I think we really managed to excite the audience and show everyone how talented and cool we are. My parents, relatives and friends came to the performance today, so, of course, I wanted to do my best. And I’m very glad that both the project and the performance were welcomed so warmly and hospitably at my home. I hope this is not the last visit of NucKids to our city”.

Now, the premiere in Zheleznogorsk has been performed, the audience is satisfied and happy, the participants are in a state of euphoria from the work done. Therefore, we can move on. Very soon, the kids will leave the wonderful Siberian region and go to another point of our vast homeland. Kurchatov is next in line. Let us hit the road!
