ASC or how the atmosphere of the NucKids project is created

The second day of the project was very busy for the participants. Firstly, at 8 a.m. the kids gathered for a workout. The counselors, who are the former participants of the project, prepared original and fun movements for the kids, which immediately energized and charged them with energy for the whole day.

Secondly, participants took full advantage of the opportunities available. Everyone could enjoy swimming in the pool, taking a walk on the territory of the boarding house and along the shore of the Gulf of Finland.

Thirdly, various team building games and training sessions were organized for the kids, meaning that everything was done to make a real team out of the project participants! On the second day, Alexander Nikolaev and Dmitry Simonov conducted acting classes for the first time.

The most important event of the day was the Acting Skills Competition, so-called ASC. This very cheerful and warm tradition formed within the project three years ago. Since then, ASC is not just a chance to demonstrate your talents to the creative team once again, but also an opportunity to spend a great time.

“The Acting Skills Competition is very empowering, it lifts the spirit and inspires for future achievements! My greatest memory was singing the NucKids anthem together with all the project participants. We rocked it! It’s just unforgettable!”

Ilya Bondarenko, 15 years old from Balakovo

The competition traditionally consisted of several stages, which represented various acting tasks. After each round, the creative group chose the contestants for the next one, while the remaining participants stayed in the hall to support the performers. All the kids took part in the first stage, so everyone had opportunity to display their abilities. Varvara Rodnova from Sosnovy Bor became the winner. She received both a prize from the hosts and a round of applause from the participants and fans.

“This is the third year of the project, and this is my second time participating in ASC. The first time I did not win, I fell out in the second stage. However, it was still very cool! This year’s contest was even better. The kids still stick together as always, which is awesome! I did not think about winning at all. I just wanted to have fun and good time! I just let myself go with the music and it all worked out! So I cleared my mind, concentrated, and started dancing like never before!”

Acting teachers Alexander Nikolaev and Dmitry Simonov traditionally organized the acting skills competition. They tried to create a friendly atmosphere among the participants, to turn ASC into one big game and fully reveal all the talents of the NucKids, which, perhaps, they did not have time to show at the internal auditions.

“The kids this year are so energetic, passionate, and talented. They have created a truly warm and home-like atmosphere on the project. It made me so happy! Any holiday, any competition instantly becomes a theatrical performance. A theatrical performance is a collaboration between the audience and the performer. The audience, in this case, plays a key role, perhaps even more than the performers on stage. This is what creates the unique atmosphere of the project!”

Dmitry Simonov, Acting teacher

The Acting Skills Competition was a real success. No one was indifferent, evetyone participated and showed their talents from different perspectives. In turn, the representatives of the creative group had a lot of fun, and discovered new skills and talents. It was a hilarious and energizing event, which the participants of the project will remember for a very long time.
