After three weeks of online classes, which participants from different countries continue to attend, Nuckids added an offline format. 70 participants from Russia gathered at a camp in the Moscow region to stage a musical performance and make a short movie.
This year, the project’s camp was the Yakhonti-Tarusa the park-hotel, located 140 kilometers away from Moscow in the Kaluga region.
The script reading has taken place, and very soon, the director will announce the candidates for the main roles, as well as carry out the final tough selection. Let’s reveal a secret that this year’s performance will be dedicated to love, which ruins everything on its way. A kind of Romeo and Juliet – but in the future.
However, apart from offline, there are also daily acting, stage speech and choreography classes online for participants from India, Belarus, Bangladesh, Hungary and Uzbekistan. They are connected to the acting class rooms in groups and spend an hour practicing tongue twisters in English and Russian and doing various articulation exercises. This is not all for the online part of the project – vocal classes remain in the online format with teachers for everyone.
By the way, everyone attends general team meetings and discussions. Those who have gathered near Moscow communicate with their new friends by video and discuss their daily issues and the most current news.
However, unlike the online part, there is almost no time left for socializing, playing games and chatting – the whole day is scheduled by the hour. There are twice as many trainings on acting, stage speech and improvisation as there were online. In a short period of time participants have to learn listening and feeling each other, and now there is practically no time for rest. This year there are no usual tours and various getaways. All activities are concentrated in the project campus.
But if it appears, most often the children go to team-building activities and various games with counselors and volunteers. Their main goal is to teach children trust each other and be able to hear their partners.
However, the attitude of the participants indicates that such a mode is not a difficulty at all, but as it is trendy to say online, a “challenge”. Here you need to keep up to date with the latest news and be ready for new creative tasks. However, it is harder to show a better performance here than online – it has to be granted every day and demonstrated live.
We will be back very soon with news about the rehearsals with different actors, and we will maybe even reveal the director’s secret plans.
