The Choice of Values

Yesterday the project hosted a game-laboratory The Choice of Values, conducted by its author Olga Golyshenkova — President of the Association of IACS, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Network Communities, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Economics and Labor Relations and expert of the DNA of Russia project.

The kids had to distribute roles in groups, compile their own top traditional spiritual and moral values, use situational tasks to conduct self-diagnosis and identify the priority values they use to solve problems.

«The game-laboratory was quite an exciting event. We were able to re-discover values that we knew about but often forget in everyday life. This game allows everyone to make their own choice and then we make a choice as a group. It was interesting to observe how each person’s options in the team resonated with others, sometimes our views differed greatly, but we could come to a common solution. For me it is a new format, an unusual teamwork and a good way of interesting communication», shared Sofya Khodchenkova (Angarsk).

During the 2-hour game, the participants learned to make their choices more consciously and pay due attention to priority values.

«We worked as one team, became even more united, and felt somehow special. Our opinions often coincided, which made us feel comfortable and in sync. We had to deal with interesting situations that we may not notice every day. Do we act like our characters in this situation? I liked the approach of the facilitator, she tried to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way, so it was interesting for all the participants,» said Ekaterina Kozlova (Nizhny Novgorod).

In life, we often make choices based on emotions or automatically, but rarely do we analyze our actions. This meeting taught its participants to pay attention to which values help them make the right choice.
